Emoticon of the Day #10

Honey? Yeah, I know I said I was going to make SURE that I was home for dinner by 6pm tonight but I had a client call who just HAD to meet me right now. (Thinking to self: I REALLY need to get this client to sign a contract to make up for that one. ;-) )

Emoticon of the Day #9

The face you make when you are LITERALLY dealing with an irrational client. You usually make this face to the person in the cubicle next to you, who busts out laughing while trying to make a cold call.

The first time I saw this face for real was when an agent in our office was told by her client that she (the agent)  needed to talk to her cat. And this client was S-E-R-I-O-U-S…she actually put her on the phone with the cat and the agent turned to me while talking to the cat.

This is an EXACT photo of her face. ;-)

Tech Support Face -

Hello, this is S-T-E-V-E  (you can tell by the accent it is NOT Steve)

“How can I help you?” (Maybe by sending me to someone who is not talking to me from Bangalore and can understand my computer issue is what you are thinking…)

The best part is at the end of the 4 hour and 37 minute phone call they ALWAYS politely ask. “We want to make sure that we serve your needs. Is there ANYTHING else I can do for you?” (even though your computer still is not fixed.)

You are left with two choices. Tell them “Yes. I would like 4 hours and 37 minutes of my life back, please!” (which they will not understand) or you can just hang up. Most choose the latter.

This is known as a contract-gasm.

It is the euphoric feeling that happens when you get buyer and seller to agree (finally!). And for those who are wondering, just like in the movie When Harry Met Sally… if you see another agent experience this in the office, you almost always want to reply:

“I’ll have what she’s having.” ;-)

Phonemate 3000 … funny video

Once in a while, one of us in the Gallery come across a You Tube video that is funny and worth passing along. Sometimes they promote the people who post them, but they are still funny.;-)

Emoticon of the Day #6

Tears of Joy that come from that Short Sale that was neither short nor a sale…but somehow you (after four months of wrangling got the deal done and the family (that could have bought the house down the street but had to have a DEAL) is now moved in and happy.

Then you realize that while the money is here, you likely put so many hours into this that you worked for less than minimum wage.

Emoticon of the Day #5

The office prima donna.

This is the sainted person who can do no wrong in the office. They have the ear of the broker, the hearts of the agents who can get them what they need and control over the office staff when they need it. In real life they are great people and you really like them. When you are trying to get something done at the office and they are in line in front of you (again) you just want to shoot them. Dead. (grin)

Emoticon of the day #4

This is the face of an inexperienced agent taking an overpriced listing ” Sure, want to sell it for $100,000 more than everyone else in the neighborhood! GREAT!” he says. “I just wanna be able to go tell my wife that I got a listing today. We will worry about the price later!”

Emoticon of the Day #3

Ok…don’t LIE about it. You have been this person. This happens when you look down at your cell phone and realize that it is your seller calling you for one of three things:

- You forgot to send them the paperwork that you promised them and they are now on vacation and will be in the jungles of Botswana for three weeks with no access to ANY electronic communications and you need them to sign the documents so that you can close..or ELSE

- You were supposed to meet a potential buyer to show them the house and your kids called from school and your <<insert significant other>> called with a health concern, and your mom called because..well she just called…and …ah screw it. You just FORGOT.

- Well, because your seller is just  a well…ummm…nervous seller.

Real Estate Nausea

Real Estate Nausea: This is that feeling that you want to throw up in your mouth brought on by one of two things. 1) That friendly couple who called you to let you know that they wrote an offer with another REALTOR after months of working with them…all because they found the PERFECT house while they were out driving around (and you FINALLY took a day off to make up some time with your family after the last 3 weekends with these guys). They of course wanted to call you because they are SURE that you are SSOOO excited for them! or 2) office meetings.
